However, statistics also show that, despite a 70% increase in the world's population since the 1980s, we produce enough food to feed the entire population of the world. Statistics also show that over a quarter of the world's population live below the international poverty line. Those people live on less than $1.25 per day.

This is disgusting and totally wrong. Not only can't these people afford medication, education and proper housing, they can't even afford a box of tissues (Kleenex - $3).
